تعد هندسة البيئة من أحد التخصصات الهندسية المثيرة التي يدرس خلالها الطالب برامجاً متميزة لإعداده بهدف استخدام الطرق الهندسية والرياضية والعلمية من أجل أن تساعده على تصميم أنظمة تساعد على حل مشاكل البيئة، والتخفيف من أضرار التلوث، والرصد الدائم والتحكم المستمر في مراكز تلوث الهواء والأرض والماء، إلى جانب الطرق العملية لحماية الصحة والأمان في المنشآت. من هنا يمكن القول بأن أهمية الهندسة البيئية وأثرها الإيجابي على الفرد والمجتمع كانت قد شجعت الطلاب إلى مواصلة دراساتهم العليا في هذا المجال، ولا ريب أن كل طالب يتخذ مشكلة متعلقة في البيئة لإجراء التحريات البحثية عنها من أجل الوصول إلى أكثر الحلول ملائمةً وحداثةً. إذ يحتوي هذا المقال على العديد من الرسائل العلمية التي تتضمن مواضيعًا ذات صلة بهندسة البيئة.
